September was great in several respects and disappointing in one.
I completed 400 hours of active study of Russian. This number is important because I had planned to study that much for the whole of 2020. The goal was achieved three months in advance. To treat myself, I attempted all the tests in Златоуст's ТРКИ preparation book,
Тесты, Тесты, Тесты... Первый Цертификационый Уровень. There was one test for the level A1, around 7 or 8 for A2, and 12 for B1. The average score in each level was more than 95%. I was obviously glad because all the work wasn't in vain. I can now watch
Дизель Шоу (a comedy from Ukraine) and understand enough to laugh. But Маменко and his mother-in-law jokes are still beyond me, so are the excellent courses on
Открытое образование. My goal will be to enrol in and complete at least one course next year.
As for the disappointing news, I'm going really slow with French. I have not even completed 100 hours of active study in this language and I'm still on the 79th lesson of
Assimil French with Ease. That's not much compared with Russian, in which I have done all the exercises in
Living Russian Grammar (Basic-Intermediate), EN->RU and RU->EN translations for the first 49 chapters of
Assimil Russian with Ease, and have worked with the first 112 chapters of Nina Potapova's four-volume (three textbooks + one answer, vocabulary, and grammar summary book) and 135-chapter course from 1966,
Learning Russian.
EDIT: Corrected the grammar name.
