I love this! I should add this to my 2020 goals...but I won't. Not strong enough.

Hey you called it the 2020 Polyglot Fitness Challenge challenge didn't you? I will say I was just in Kinokuniya (a Japanese bookstore chain that also has a lot of paper products/stationery) yesterday because I wanted a planner and had to make a point of not going near the language learning books.

Is anybody here vegetarian or vegan?

I am vegetarian and considering going vegan in February. I am planning to stay on it for a few months to see the health benefits of the diet along with my workouts/exercise.

I'm in! I haven't thought about this yet as I got pretty busy at the end of 2019, but I'll come up with something!

A resounding no from me! In fact, I'm now doing carnivore, so for the last 26 or so days I've only eaten animal products.

Wife and I were vegetarians (really, pescovegetarians) for 12-13 years, but had to give that diet up for health reasons. Yes, contrary to what seems correct, my cholesterol, triglycerides, bp, resting heart rate, acid reflux were all the worst they'd ever been in my adulthood when I was a vegetarian. :o

Good idea. I've been distracted 2019 from language learning, but bright side is that I'm back at a healthy BMI again. I do find, having a job and exercising and learning language, it all takes time. For me it's straightforward.

2020 for health -- don't screw it up. Stay exercising, keep the weight down.
2020 for langauge -- finally pass the JLPT N2 (which I've failed like 6-7 times now, bleah.)

Didn't really start the carnivore a month ago for this purpose, but I did lose 11 pounds in the last month. I'm currently waiting on my lipid panel results, had the blood draw this morning. Can't wait to see the results!

I'm not, but I do cook vegan and vegetarian recipes on a very regular basis mostly because of the taste and I don't always want to spend my money on meat. I am far from convinced that being vegan or vegetarian is inherently healthier than eating a balanced diet that includes meat and produce (and grains and...) for your average person, but if you want to be vegan or vegetarian have at it.

Mind you I also have zero desire to move over to the other end of the scale and only eat meat - that would involve cutting way too many things out from my diet that I like and it would simply be too expensive for me.
