I made it into but not through Chapter 5, but enjoyed what I did go through and anticipate eventually working through the rest of the book.
Thanks Mike for setting this up, it was interesting!

Re: TY Complete Old English Holiday Mini-Challenge
I also only made it to Chapter 5. I completely overestimated how much time I would have available over Christmas and now I'm back at work I have even less time. I intend to carry on with this book, however, and have also bought Drout's "Quick and Easy Old English", which was recommended by sfuqua.

All I have to add is a big me too. I'm working through the book steadily, but I haven't finished chapter 5. I'm working through this one, and Pollington's book, and Drout's book. I'm making steady progress, but I have a long way to go.

Re: TY Complete Old English Holiday Mini-Challenge
I got through Lesson 7 doing just shadowing and reading the cultural notes, etc. I reserved study of OE grammar and exercises for books that are more geared towards that. The selections and background plus audio make this an extremely nice and unique book. I had nothing to do for the entire four weeks of my break, and so I went all-in on languages (Arabic, Cornish, Hindi, Persian, Icelandic, OE) thus relegating this to but one among many.

What'd you use for Cornish? I used KDL many years ago, w/tutor, and loved the language. Someday I'll return to it.

You're not a C1 (or B1 or whatever) if you haven't tested.

I'm doing the KDL Original First Grade right now. My plan is to do the whole original and then the whole new one and see what happens from there, maybe subscribe to some Cornish newsletter or something (and then go back to Cornwall). It's nice that there is no pressing "need" for this, and while I maintain fine discipline over myself, I don't feel stressed out about any impending deadlines or anything.

Re: TY Complete Old English Holiday Mini-Challenge
I may go back to this after my current German course. Been itching to get back to it, especially as I learn all these German words and see/hear Old English words in there. Maybe a month-long challenge, try to finish the book?
If I do, I'll start a new thread.
