I'm crossposting here in hopes of getting an answer.

I'm studying Spanish on duolingo and have a question. Sometimes they call for
me to use "a mi me gusta" and sometimes just "me gusta". In what circumstances do I use either one?

A mí me gusta = emphasis, akin to saying *I* like (cars, apples, volleyball) (as opposed to Juanito, Pepito, Maria, or Carmen)

Me gusta = I like (cars, apples, volleybal...) without particular emphasis.

As an illustration:

Todos en el colegio están jugando al futbol. Juanito le pregunta a Pepito:
- ¿Hombre, por qué no te apuntas al fútbol como todos los demás? ¿Acaso no te gusta?
- Oye, es que a mí me gusta el béisbol. Así que me he apuntado a ello.

Whereas...

Me gusta el béisbol just means a generic "I like baseball" without context, for example as a response to the question "¿Qué deporte te gusta?"
