Are you a Guarani learner yourself as well?

Through reading another article in the NYT en Español, I was lead to this translated NYT article in Spanish La legitimación del guaraní en Paraguay: una lucha contra la desigualdad (The legitimization of Guarani in Paraguay: a struggle against inequality). Here is a link to the English version- Newfound Pride in Guaraní, a Language Long Disdained in Paraguay.

Within the article is a link to the Guarani Language Academy/Guarani Ñe’ ê Rerekuapavê Academia de la Lengua Guaraní page on facebook.

Nope, but I find that learning some of the basics helps me with learning Tupi based place names, and flora and fauna. It's not something I take seriously, but I'm trying to collect resources because I enjoy browsing them occasionally.

Now that is really interesting. And I once read that people from Paraguay sometimes would make a big difference between being spoken to in Spanish and in Guarani. What I mean is that they (according to what I read) do like Spanish as well, but Guarani is closer to them.

I'm going to Paraguay today, I'll do a little research and let you know the feedback.
