It can also slow down speed (pitch).
When the original source already has slight pauses, this recorder automatically creates chunks, you have to press the recording button only once, no further editing necessary.
This Cortina Spanish Course has the pauses:

Summary
The time needed to learn a foreign language is impressive: hundreds of hours to transfer 5000+ words into a human brain and then hundreds more hours to understand people speaking at ‘3+ words/second’. In addition, language learning seems to be immune to the accelerating and streamlining effects of modern technology – today, like 50 years ago, it takes over 1000 hours to start being fluent in another language.
No technology has been shown to be able to compress this time frame.
Here we present a method of double exposure to a new language through intense listening plus reading. The rationale for simultaneous ear/eye exposure is that incoming signals from the ear are processed in different brain areas than signals coming in from the eyes and both areas need to be trained simultaneously. Our free smartphone app Ear2Memory is designed to assist the initial 50 to 100 hours of language learning.

Using DeepL translator
Although DeepL comes from a German company, it apparently - just like Google and Microsoft - translates from non-English languages into English and from there into German. If you are fluent in English, it is always advisable to choose English as the target language in such cases, because this avoids the mistakes of the secondary translation and provides a much better translation quality. In order to grasp the meaning of texts written in a language that is completely unknown to me, I also always run them through at least three different translation services, because everyone makes different mistakes when translating.

Si te dan la habitación mas cutre de todo el hostal es normal que te quejes.
If they give you the cheapest room in the whole hostel, it's normal for you to complain.
"cheap" would be ok, but not in the sense of "lowest price", but this is how it is translated into the target languages
Wenn sie dir das billigste Zimmer im ganzen Hostel anbieten, ist es normal, dass du dich beschwerst.
all the German alternatives are wrong now:
günstigste ...
preiswerteste ...
preisgünstigste ...
günstigsten ...
kostengünstigste .
S'ils te donnent la chambre la moins chère de toute l'auberge, c'est normal que tu te plaignes.
Se ti danno la camera più economica di tutto l'ostello, è normale che tu ti lamenti.
To be fair to Deepl among the English alternatives you find excellent ones - but they are not used for the target languages.
craziest ...
dirtiest ...
meanest ...
rottenest ...
most crappy ...
shabbiest ...
worst ...
poorest
crappiest ...
ugliest ...
------------
Update 7/1/2020.
"Si te dan la habitación mas cutre de todo el hostal es normal que te quejes."
was translated as:
"If they give you the cheapest room in the whole hostel, it's normal for you to complain."
but is now:
"If they give you the crappiest room in the whole hostel, it's normal to complain."
"cheapest" is no longer interpreted as "lowest price" but as "crappiest". and now the other languages that go via English, translate correctly
Wenn sie dir das mieseste Zimmer in der ganzen Herberge geben, ist es normal, sich zu beschweren.
S'ils vous donnent la chambre la plus merdique de toute l'auberge, c'est normal de se plaindre.
Se ti danno la stanza più schifosa di tutto l'ostello, è normale lamentarsi.
DeepL also offers a dictionary function: when you click on a word in the original, dictionary entries will appear at the bottom.
--------
You can use Deepl together with "Pop-up Dictionary" in the Firefox Browser, with a simple mouse click on a word or passage Deepl will appear as a pop-up.

This extension makes use of on-line dictionary sites to translate selected words on-the-fly on a pop-up box.
It supports the following functions:
- Multiple dictionary sites can be defined
- Users can define custom dictionary sites (just input the url of the dictionary sites as "http://www.your-favourite-dict-site.com/$$". The $$ is a place-holder for the word to be translated.
- This extension will log the dictionary chosen for a particular web page you visited. The next time you visit the same web page it will know what dictionary should be used for this site.
