Season 2 StoryLearning Spanish podcast (Olly Richards)

It's finally here...
After months of hard work writing, recording and editing, I'm delighted to share Season 2 of the StoryLearning Spanish podcast with you.

The StoryLearning Spanish podcast is a daily Spanish podcast for intermediate level learners (A2-B1), which centres around an original story in Spanish written by our podcast host, Sofía.

In season 1, we followed the adventures of 6 friends who met by chance in San Sebastián and ended up on an unexpected road trip around Spain together.

In Season 2, one of these characters is back for a new adventure and very different adventure....

I used to cram annotations into my two columns when doing bidirectional translation. This has turned out to be distracting and counterproductive. Instead I now create two additional columns for annotations, verb conjugations etc
Since individual columns can be moved out of sight, this is very practical and creates additional space ....

OPUS... the open parallel corpus

OPUS is a growing collection of translated texts from the web. In the OPUS project we try to convert and align free online data, to add linguistic annotation, and to provide the community with a publicly available parallel corpus. OPUS is based on open source products and the corpus is also delivered as an open content package. We used several tools to compile the current collection. All pre-processing is done automatically. No manual corrections have been carried out..

VocabBoost

An app (Firefox and Chrome) that removes randomly words in any text and wants you to fill them in again. This is extremely difficult with advanced texts, but the second option, where they offer the words in a list outside the text for you to fill them in in the right order, is a very good context exercise.
