Just wanted to ask if anyone has tried apprendre l'islandais and if so, how has it been?
Very tempted to try it out haha.

Hi humerusthings,

I'm a lucky owner of this coursebook, I purchased it as soon it was released. I haven't gone through it yet, because I'm going to take up Icelandic once my Swedish gets more solid, but it seems pretty good, it also comes with a CD and is packed with culture notes. It's completely different from the usual Assimil courses, it's halfway between their conversation guides and Teach Yourself/Colloquial coursebooks. I also bought "Colloquial Icelandic", so I think I will be using "Apprendre l'Islandais" as a complement to my main Colloquial textbook.

Label Icelandic is one of the best to learn Icelandic in general I found. It is a full course, sadly it is only for Android but when it comes to apps, it is excellent.http://www.labelicelandic.com

This is a really obvious one but I highly recommend Routledge's Icelandic: An Essential Grammar by Daisy L. Neijimann. Fills a major gap in the market.

I'm generally not a fan of text books, but I looked through Colloquial some years ago and it was not too bad.

Yes, it seems pretty good, but the price is high for what you get. I never got around to buying a copy.
