Granted, Polish is one of the less-frequently-studied languages for which fewer resources exist than for the more-frequently-studied languages. Nevertheless, without wishing to launch another referendum on the audio-lingual method, I would offer my opinion that the
scope and comprehensiveness of the two major Polish courses below are
comparable to courses of this type and calibre for the study of German, Spanish, French, Russian, and many other languages.
Admittedly, the courses below contain a few elements of vocabulary which no longer have the purchase that they once had. However, a discerning adult should be able to cope with these minor elements and, having assiduously applied themselves to the study of Polish with either one of these courses, will have attained a level of CEFR B1, thereby permitting their study of “Assimil Le polonais” as equivalent-to-native-materials (that is, as up-to-date, progressively-more-difficult audio recordings in Polish for which a transcript is available) and/or direct progress to intermediate-level native materials.
