Hut, Hut, Hut!
While searching the Internet for vintage USAFI language-learning materials, I came upon a website for the US Marine Corps which, in the absence of additional information, leaves the impression that they have established their own language-training programme, separate from that of the DLI. Has the "band of brothers" become a "bande à part"?

Re: US Marine Corps Language and Cultural Training
They are still sending Marines to DLI. All the services have foreign language and cultural centers, many of which provide refresher training, pre-deployment language training, and the like. Air Force. Navy. Army.
Trust me, nothing will replace DLI for initial basic language training.

You're not a C1 (or B1 or whatever) if you haven't tested.
