Another site you might like to try then is https://sharedlingo.com/app

SharedLingo is a re-written version of the old ShareTalk which died out awhile back. Seems to be a lot of people here and you can do both text and voice talks.

EDIT: Seems that site is getting merged with another now... difficult to keep up these days.

That's easy.
1. Go to the Home page (by clicking on A language learners' forum)
2. Choose the forum where you want to post from the list of forums (For example, General Language Discussion)
3. Click on the New Topic * button just under the name of the forum on the left side

If you find the site tricky to navigate you could try switching the interface to use your native language for a while and then switch it back once you are used to where the various buttons are.
