Yeah part of the reason I've subscribed is the hope that eventually they'll roll out various Indian languages (especially Pakistani Punjabi, which I was surprised to see as one of the courses under development before the AI program came out), Arabic vernaculars and Basque. They dropped Bengali a couple of days ago so here's hoping.

Same here. Basque was on the list of languages for a while, but then they removed it, probably to focus on getting the AI system up. I'd like to see more smaller regional languages like the Romance languages (Sardinian, Corsican, Occitan, Galician), Indian languages (Tamil), more Chinese dialects (would love to see Shanghainese, for example), Celtic languages (Scottish Gaelic, Irish, Breton), and of course Basque. I'd also love to see some indigenous American languages like Quechua, Aymara, Nahuatl, etc.

I believe the proper word here is "rent". ;)

I saw the post. Absolutely amazing.
I am finished with Michael, his bootlickers on Facebook, and his company.
I don't care if he gives his service/courses away.
I don't trust him.

I'll stick with it until I'm B1 in Modern Standard Arabic but this doesn't bode well for the future... I was a "critical supporter" for a bit, not buying into the pessimism on the product but still seeing some flaws (lack of GMS for related languages, lack of offline mode for people who live in countries where data isn't cheap/widely available), but if this goes through I might flip over to being fully critical.

I know earlier in this thread I said that having the multiple-language option there is kind of pointless, but I could imagine someone who's working on two or three languages over the entire year getting great use out of it. I also think it's unfair to take basic functionality out of the product when this was one of the main selling points that helped them justify the price tag. In fact, Campbell's comment was in response to someone who was supporting the new model, saying that "you don't ask Netflix to charge you less if you only watch a couple of shows" and "you don't ask for a cheaper gym membership if you just use the treadmill" (although actually there are gyms that have different levels of subscriptions for morning/afternoon/full day  ). Why would you immediately undermine the argument of someone who's supporting you?

I still have plans to revisit my French, German and Italian so this might have made sense for me but not at the moment. I'm doing the 18-week intensive schedule for Spanish using Glossika Old; my initial impression is that Glossika Old is great for refreshing languages that you haven't looked at in a while.

Firstly, financially it doesn't make sense to pay out $30 for each of the next four+ months when I don't have time to do anything with it. Secondly, Glossika New seems like GSR Mk II and I think I would be wanting something similar to GMS for languages I already know (however rusty that knowledge is). Thirdly....

That about sums it up. ;)
