Their plan was / is to charge $30 a month per language?

I'm sorry, that's just idiotic.

Exactly. He must know this. If he doesn't find his customers willing to pay 30$ a month here, where else could he find them? Could it be that this is only a trick to make us buy his "old" courses like crazy, just in case we might need them? Could it be that he needs that money now, and after the sale ending on Sunday the 12th he announces reasonable prices, so that we are inclined to sign up, and he makes double the money he would have otherwise? Just thinking ...

So apparently it's going to be $30 a month PER language

Makes the claim about having one's employer pay for it even more absurd...

u/nae_co over at r/glossika says that they contacted Glossika and the Glossika people said that they're not planning on making it 30$ per language.

Maybe Campbell was just brainstorming publicly? :P

Perhaps it was an attempt at a joke aimed at all the folks complaining about the $30/month price tag? Whatever it was, don't think it helped them out very much.

In a weird twist of fate, Michael Campbell seems to be the biggest barrier to selling his own product.

Maybe ...something something... very unflattering. I take back what I wrote about sound business decisions. I am here for pure entertainment and this company keeps producing.

I was right to break out the popcorn for this thread. The now deleted comment with the $30/month per language sincerely made me laugh aloud. Seems my ‘$100/month for truly premium learning’ joke in the Fluent Forever app thread wasn’t too far off.

With all the money he expects to make from this platform, you’d think he’d hire a good PR team or something.

Like reineke, I’m just here for the entertainment value at this point

I'm increasingly pleased with my purchase of Indonesian and Icelandic for only $59.99 each!
