The new program is at ai.glossika, and the pdf courses are still available on the old site.

I have tried this new system and I have one big issue with it....I can't choose what I want to study.
This lack of flexibility to choose exactly what I want to study would always be an issue for me.
Things I cannot do with the new system:
- Repeat specific problem areas.
- Review earlier sentences when I want.
- Match up grammar areas covered on Glossika to compliment my text books.
Right now I am using the old GSR audio to review past tenses in Spanish. However I cannot do this with the new system
I have also noticed that is is very similar to how I use Quizlet with the Flashcard setting already, Quizlet auto plays my entire deck with English and Spanish audio, the only difference is that it only plays each card once and it's not native audio.
Shame but I'll stick to my GSR audio and Quizlet for now.

There is the "favorite" button you can use to save sentences for later, but i agree we need much better control over what we study and a way to view/review sentences we've already studied.

I have found it very interesting, in a self reflective way, discovering how negative I am about Glossika's new direction. I never realized before how much I value being a self directed learner.

hedgehog.chess wrote:Well they got "He is./ Er ist." right in the given sentences.
"He" will always be "er" and "she" will always be "sie," but the English word "it" can be any of "er," "sie," or "es," depending on the circumstances. If "it" refers back to a specific noun of masculine or feminine gender, that noun may be referred to with "er" or "sie," respectively. If "it" refers to a specific noun having neuter gender, or to an unknown thing (i.e., indeterminate gender), it can be "es."

To me sounds like they just chose to throw technology at whatever problem they may have had with their company.
I'm finally learning French so I can have access to Assimil's entire collection. But I'm still sad about not looking forward to new products from Glossika.
Cortina went out of business. The president, who is the copyright holder, has given permission for the courses to placed online for free. In addition to the unusual languages, they offer Vietnamese. https://fsi-languages.yojik.eu/languages/cortina.html
Linguaphone USA is having a 60% off sale and has sold out of several courses. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the company or at least the US branch.

Best of luck everyone.
I simply must stop watching this thread and I need to stop watching the Facebook page.
I'm suffering from a bad case of:
"HOLD ALL MY CALLS. SOMEONE IS WRONG ON THE INTERNET"
I hope I haven't offended anyone.
Now, back to GSR, the program formerly known as Glossika.

I would have preferred a simple "the subscription method is more profitable" explanation. I'm funny that way.

Sounds like they have some very basic system problems to overcome
Well.. Yup. Worse order processing than I realized. I sort of expected a customer service email like "ok we've fixed it on our end, sorry about that!" and I'd be off on my way. Three emails later, I give up. I can't figure out how to sign up. This is pretty much unheard of but I refuse to spend more time begging people to take my money.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Re: Glossika Product Updates: Messages 4 of 4
It is pretty ridiculous that they're asking so much for it when there are so many bugs and mistakes. They should've spent a few months alpha/beta testing it with a smaller group of subscribers, would've saved them (and us) a lot of headaches. It seems like no one actually tested it out before they released it, there are just so many things broken. I imagine six months from now it'll be much cleaner, but they'll probably have lost a lot of potential customers by then. Hopefully Mike can get some sleep this weekend (finally) and wake up refreshed and ready to tackle all the issues in the coming weeks.
