C1 German in Dallas

Postby Lorelei » Fri May 05, 2017 4:18 am

I am looking for a C1 German course or at least a C1 German test in the Dallas, Texas area.
I have been looking for quite some time, and have come up short.
The community colleges only go up to semester 2, 3 or 4 German.
University of Dallas and Dallas Goethe Center only go up to B2.

Please don't say "look online" or "google it". I have already done that.

I'd call and ask specifically in those places if they can organise the C1. Talk to

Tel.: +1 972 207-4319
Executive Director
Dr. Barbara Berthold
bberthold@dallasgoethecenter.org

The Goethe site reports that they will do a C1 test.

I second the advice of calling the Dallas Goethe Center if you haven't already. I poked around their site and it looks like they're offering exams on the 10th of June and the 10th of October. I suspect the registration deadline for June has either past or is about to pass.

The Goethe Center should be your first stop.

The "Dallas area" is large, and you don't say what or where you have googled. There are more than community colleges here and the University of Dallas. I have no idea whether any of the following carry advanced German courses, but some other colleges to check would be

The University of Texas at Dallas (actually, at Richardson)
Texas Women's University (TWU) in Denton, but with a branch in Dallas
Southern Methodist University (SMU)

Slightly further afield:
University of North Texas, in Denton
Texas Christian University (TCU), in Fort Worth

And finally, furthest afield, Texas A&M University-Commerce

If you're just looking to take a test, and don't mind a bit of a drive, possibilities would be
The University of Texas at Austin
Texas A&M University

Good luck in your search, and welcome to the forum!
