I was perusing eBay just now to see what kind of Hugo books people are selling, and came across this lot of 8 Hugo in 3 Months books, from I believe the 2nd generation of the course. I cannot presently justify the $50 on books for languages I either already know or will not be learning until quite a long time from now, and while I will be insanely jealous, I hope someone here can add these to their collection and spice up the color of their bookshelves.

Whilst scouring the internet for language books that I do not need, I came across the Yale University Press Spring Book Sale of (up to) 80% off regular prices. Ya, ya, I know, I'm a little late with this: we're quickly approaching the Summer Solstice. Still, there might be something of interest here!

Just to amend the post about the Yale University Press spring sale, you can find all of the books that are on sale here. I'm pretty sure none of them are related to language learning or linguistics, but there are plenty of interesting books in that list.

FALSE ALARM!
As a child growing up in the 1950’s, I unwaveringly resisted the taunts and jeers of my little friends who dared me to pull the latch on the fire alarm boxes which were located strategically throughout the neighbourhood.

It would appear that, despite my continued resolve, I managed to trip a “false alarm” concerning the Yale University Press Book Sale.

Powell's is having a sale on used books from now until June 21st at 11:59pm PST. 25% off on online orders $25 or more with the coupon code LUCKY25.
As I've mentioned previously, Powell's website is not good for browsing but fine if you search by author, title, ISBN, etc. They're also ok if you search by subject.

I have an ebay alert for any listing with "linguaphone" in the title, and usually it's just some PDQ stuff, some incomplete materials, or some vinyl materials for French/German/English. Today however I see a couple really good options:

Swedish & Finnish. The latter is misspelled in the title, so those seeking Finnish materials may not stumble across it.

Apparently not, according to the discussion. I'll keep an ear out and share if it comes back.

I paid for a lifetime pass early on, but I hadn't touched Mondly in God-knows-how-long until I started researching for an essay on language learning in AR/VR earlier this year...
