While surfing the Internet this morning, I noticed that the Linguaphone courses are presently on sale. I had not received an announcement of this sale and there is no indication when it ends (permanent, perhaps?).

At least if you live in Europe, it would be even cheaper to buy on Linguaphone's Irish website: http://www.linguaphone.ie. The sums of money correspond to those on the British website, but the value of the euro is approximately 12 percent lower than that of the British pound. At the moment, a full introductory Linguaphone course costs 139,95 Euros, a so-called "refurbished" course even less: 125,95 Euros. That is as cheap as it gets, if you don't want to grab a used copy off Ebay.

Re: Language Programmes - Offers, Sales and Discounts
This morning, I received several Emails from Simon & Schuster announcing their offer of the Pimsleur Unlimited courses at a 50% discount. This sale ends Friday. I clicked on the imbedded link and can confirm that the offer is, indeed, in force. However, recalling Finolia’s questions in February (see above), I took another look at the Email and noticed that the limiting condition “Exclusive Offer to Past Customers” appears below the main message.
My suggestion to anyone who is not a past customer, who wishes to avail themselves of these discounts, would be that they try to negotiate with Simon & Schuster. For example, one could request that the discount be applied to their purchase of the full 5-level Pimsleur Unlimited program. If this does not work, perhaps an agreement could be reached whereby one would purchase something of lesser value now with the written understanding that they would receive Pimsleur's offer of a 50% discount the next time that the publisher makes this offer which would likely be in about two months. Good luck with your negotiations!

Re: Language Programmes - Offers, Sales and Discounts
Just got an e-mail an hour ago from Linguaphone. They are liquidating all of their United States stock and ceasing their U.S. operations. All of their courses are on sale on their U.S. website, for up to 90% off, but many of them are already sold out:
https://www.linguaphonelanguages.com/
"Complete" and "Advanced" courses that normally sell for US$400 full price (and US$150-200 refurbished) are now on sale for $99 each. In the future, you will need to order from their UK site at full retail price (plus international shipping if you do not live in Britain).
I have no connection whatsoever with Linguaphone, but I have ordered courses from them before. Their "complete" courses are rather deluxe packages that come with multiple CDs and books in little briefcase-like carrying cases (sadly, more flimsy than they used to be). I regard them as likely the most complete language learning packages that one can buy outside of the academic market, with the additional incentive that they are geared toward independent learners, not classroom learners. Linguaphone seems to be the last holdout of the big traditional language course providers of the glorious pre-Internet age, when all of the material was provided exclusively in audio (CD) and text format. Don't expect any trendy video tie-ins or downloads for their courses, but their curricula are relatively comprehensive and logically organized. Some of their courses are very up-to-date, while others date back several decades and are in dire need of an overhaul. (The current version of their Mandarin Chinese course was first published back when Mao was still alive and has not been updated since!)
I've never seen such low prices on their courses, not even from resellers on eBay or similar secondary marketplace sites. I expect that they will sell out quickly.
[EDIT: Added the reference to resale sites.]

Re: Language Programmes - Offers, Sales and Discounts
This is well below other discounts in this thread but the Swedish store CDON.se is currently having 20% off on all books. It includes Assimil, Michel Thomas and French in Action. Their product names aren't the best though so try searching for ISBN if you're looking for something specific. It might also apply to other nordic countries (.no, .dk, .fi) but you need an account to apply the code. I don't know if they ship abroad (sorry).

They seem to be having each reader for $6 (audio can be downloaded from site). There is an extra 25% off if 3 books or more are bought. pdf and epub format.
