Many of you may already know the trick, but I always find it useful. This is only for Apple devices.
Go to iBooks Store.
Change the country to a country where your target language is spoken.
Look for a specific book, or just browse around. For latest releases, you can go to Featured or Top Charts.
Choose a book.
Download a sample.
These samples are generally quite large, and you do not need to have an Apple ID for that country to download them, only to purchase books.
For example, I have just downloaded from the Finland store the beginning of Tiikerinsilmä by Leena Lehtolainen, which gave me 35 pages of new reading material.
It is also a good way of trying a book (for its content or reading difficulty) before you purchase it.
