Alessandro Barbero - Italian historian that's a lot of fun to listen to. He's a treasure trove of interesting details.

Alexxya's YouTube channel features over 500 videos about history, radio dramas (Maigret), audiobooks (Ad Alta Voce and others), audiofumetti (Topolino), some of the best episodes from Alle Otto Della Sera, 100 Opere d'Arte Spiegate, La Storia in Giallo, Radiocronache immaginarie...

I went ahead and subscribed to Alexxya's channel and linked a couple clips. What I'm actually doing, though, is furiously downloading the original podcasts from Alle Otto Della Sera for use in the car. I'm sick to death of listening to novels and have had a hard time finding good non-fiction.

A lot of Rai Radio stuff is not downloadable. Alle Otto Della Sera is, but for example La Storia in Giallo is from ten years ago and my browser shows "this plugin is not supported" and I don't see any download button. I remember Ad Alta Voce wasn't downloadable either (or at least it's not intuitively obvious how to download it).

All the same, it's a big treasure hoard whether it's on Alexxya's channel or back on the original Rai site ...

You can download the Wu Ming novels in Italian for free here, and they can be conveniently uploaded to your kindle via mobi files with the instructions here.

I don't know if the books are any good, but they are current, they generally get 4 or 5 star ratings, and several have been bestsellers in Italy so at least they are hitting some kind of nerve. They all seem to be part of something called the New Italian Epic, whatever that is (sounds interesting on paper ...)

Excellent source of podcasts on a variety of subjects:
https://www.radio24.ilsole24ore.com

Not all programming here is a podcast. The podcast categories don't appear to be organized very well as they didn't have ones I'm subscribed too. Podcasts via Apple or Google may be a better way to search.
