Sprachkurs Plus is offered in two parts, a beginner's course >A2, and an intermediate course A2>B1.

So Gelingt's is a beginner>B1 course.

Thanks for sharing! I liked the Sprachkurs enough to pick up a copy! :)

This book came out in 2019, but it doesn't seem to have been mentioned on the forum. In case there's anyone interested in Middle High German, I'm posting it.

Jones, Howard and Martin H. Jones. The Oxford Guide to Middle High German. Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press (OUP), 2019. Pp. 736. $135.00 (hardback). ISBN: 978-0-19-965461-1 (hardback).

It's very positively reviewed here. Unfortunately the price will make it difficult to acquire for people without access to a university library.

Is Assimil's La pratique de l'allemand more difficult than Perfectionnement Allemand?

Based on what I've seen, it seems to be, although it could be the age of the former.

lexical resources beyond Wikipedia

https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/es-muss-ni ... obal-de-DE

Es muss nicht immer nur Wikipedia sein

As comprehensive as the free encyclopaedia is: There are many other sources of knowledge on the web that can serve as a supplement and backup for online research.

There are knowledge sources that complement Wikipedia or, in some cases, bring us more quickly to our goal - especially since the entries are often far too extensive for a quick overview and are also not easy to understand. If we are satisfied with a single explanatory sentence, then Sprachnudel.de is the place to go.

https://www.sprachnudel.de/

is an excellent place to start: this is a dictionary that provides a lot of linguistic information on spelling, hyphenation and word origin, but also a short, snappy definition. Since the "Sprachnudel" was created as a dictionary for colloquial language, many terms that we look for in vain in the Duden can also be found there.

Klexikon.de

https://klexikon.zum.de/

is the dictionary for children that explains things in easy-to-understand language, but does not simplify, so that even adults do not have to be ashamed to use it.

--------------

It's possible to go to Germany as a volunteer:

I found this on Cambridge Univeristy's "Online resources for German" page.
