Re: Free Audiobooks

Word ’audiobook’ in many languages
Thanks to Volte and others

Audiobook:

Afrikaans: Oudioboeke.
Arabic: 'الكتاب المسموع'
Basque: Entzuteko liburua (use the form "Entzuteko liburuak"), Audio-liburua (izan) {izan: In my opinion, the most accurate term is "Entzuteko liburua" which literally means "a book to be listened to". (but Audio-liburua is also used, which is a literal translation of audiobook, but seems rather forced to me)}.
Bulgarian: Аудиокнига (sennin) {sennin: /audiokniga/ is the Bulgarian and apparently also the Russian word for audiobook.}
Catalan: audiollibre
Chinese (Traditional, Mandarin - 中文): 有聲書 jianti / 有聲小說 {kealist says this term works better} (amphises, kealist)
Chinese (Simplified - 简体): 有声书 fanti / 有声小说 / 有声读物 * {有声读物 is the recommendation of a native speaker; for the other two terms, kealist says 有声小说 works better than 有声书} (amphises, kealist, Z.J.J)
Croatian: Zvučna knjiga (pl. Zvučne knjige), audio knjiga (pl audio knjige)
Czech/Slovak: Audiokniha, mluvená kniha, zvuková kniha (Vlad, kyknos) {kyknos: In Czech, "audiokniha" is correct and often used, but "zvuková kniha" or "mluvená kniha" is also used. In many bookstores including e-shops, the departement selling audiobooks is called "mluvené slovo" (literally 'spoken word').}
Danish: lydbog
Dutch: hoorboek/luisterboek/audioboek (Gilgamesh)
English: audiobook, audio book
Esperanto: aŭdlibro
Farsi/Persian: کتاب صوتی
Finnish: Äänikirja {"sound book"} (badger2)
French: livre audio * / livre parlé / livraphone / lu par / audilivre / audiobook / audiolivre / livre parlant / livre parlé / livre sonore / livre lu /livre-à-écouter
(Gilgamesh, atamagaii)
German: Hörbuch * / Hoerbuch / Hörspiel / Hoerspiel / Audiobuch (Vlad, Gilgamesh, Atamagaii)
Greek: Ακούστε ένα βιβλίο * / ηχοβιβλία (Gilgamesh)
Hungarian: Hangoskönyv * / Audió könyv, Audiokönyv (Vlad, Kisani)
Icelandic: Hljóðbók (PaulLambeth) {PaulLambeth: Hljóðbækur is the plural, although Google's Icelandic version is great at looking up all manner of forms. My source is http://www.forlagid.is/?cat=47, and that it means literally "sound book".}
Italian: audiolibro (amphises)
Japanese: オーディオ本 / 朗読 {pronounced 'roudoku': roudoku is recitation, reading aloud - an audiobook is one type of roudoku} (amphises, atamagaii)
Korean: 오디오북
Low German/Plattdüütsch: Höörbook
Malay: Buku audio
Norwegian (bokmål and nynorsk): Lydbok
Plattdüütsch: Höörbook
Polish: audioksiążka / audio-książka / książka audio / audiobooki {plural form} / książka dźwiękowa {rarely used} / książka czytana {rarely used} (rafal)
Portuguese: livro falado / audiolivro / livro em MP3 (atamagaii, luhmann)
Russian: Аудиокнига (Vlad)
Spanish: audiolibro / audio libro / libro hablado (amphises, aru-aru)
Swedish: Ljudbok / talbok / CD-bok * (JD, atamagaii, eoinda) {See "Swedish Notes" below.}
Turkish: sesli kitap * / mp3 kitap (alexptrans)
Vietnamese: sách nói
Yiddish: קלאַנג-בוך klang-bukh {literally sound book} * / audio-bukh / audio-sefer (vuisminebitz).

Unabridged:

English: unabridged
French: texte intégral (LLF)
German: ungekürzte
Italian: integrale
Mandarin Chinese: 未刪節(未删节) / 未刪減(未删减). There may be some others. The former is mainly for books (where 節/节 refers to a section of a chapter), the latter for films. (aru-aru)
Portuguese: texto integral / texto completo / obra integral / obra completa (luhmann)
Spanish: "audiolibro íntegro but you may more luck with the simpler audiolibro completo" (Andy E). Also: "I found on one of the website from commercial site forum that if the book was abridged, it said, "Abreviada" and if it was full, it didn't say anything." (Emerald)

'Radio plays' (these probably have multiple actors, sound effects, and lots of changes, but there's a chance they'll be ok)
Chinese: 廣播劇
Croatian: radio drama (pl. radio drame)
Czech: rozhlasová hra
Danish: hørespil
Dutch: hoorspel / radiodrama / luisterspel / radiotoneel
Finnish: Kuunnelma
English: radio drama / audio drama / audio theater / radio serial
French: théâtre radiophonique / radiothéâtre / feuilleton radiophonique / feuilleton radiodiffusé / radio-feuilleton / radioroman

Spanish: radioteatro / radio drama
Swedish: Radioteater
Walloon: pîce radiofonike / pîce pol radio / pîce djouwêye al radio
Welsh: drama radio

Other words that may be useful for finding audiobooks in various languages:

English: books on tape, recorded books, wordhaven (atamagaii)
German: Lesung {Reading} / ungekürzte Lesung {unabridged reading} / Gert Westphal {a name} / Rufus Beck {another name} / gelesen.von {read by} (atamagaii)
Japanese: 朗読 roudoku / Drama CD, sheetz (atamagaii)
Polish: audiobook.pl / Gazeta Wyborcza (atamagaii)
Russian: akniga {??} / abook / abook-club / audiobook.ru / abook-club.ru / audiobook_rus (atamagaii)

A list of translations for the word "review" would also fit nicely into this resource.

I just noticed that also Yle has some audiobooks and audio plays in Finnish. Some are region restricted (so Finland only), others are not. https://areena.yle.fi/radio/ohjelmat/draama
