Oh great, I just found out that Studio Bagel is no longer available in the US due to "copyright."

Without getting too far off topic, can anyone explain the reasoning behind that?

I have no idea what's going on with French digital media. They geo-lock almost everything, with the praiseworthy exceptions of Izneo, Audible.fr, and French MP3s in some online music stores (including Apple's).
Usually, this isn't really a copyright issue. As I understand it, it's actually based on private contracts between content creators and content distributors, and it has no basis in international copyright law, at least with regard to final purchasers, who haven't signed the private contracts.
The practical solution here is for students of French to cough up $20 or so for 6 months of VPN access. There are also totally free VPNs, but some of them are pretty sleazy and a couple have had security issues in the past. So if you can afford a few bucks for a reputable VPN provider, you can buy better performance and some peace of mind. You may be able to get a good one for US$2/month. Once you have a VPN, you can actually pay French creators for digital media.

Even with the United States being the world's second most populous Spanish speaking country, there is a lot of stuff that is not distributed here. More people speak Spanish in the US than speak Spanish in Spain, or so they say.
It is so dumb that people won't take my money to legally buy material.

Les Tutos and TUTO OEUF MAYO are blocked, too. Why do the French do this? /gallic shrug with pursed lips.
