You can turn the subtitles on and off (default is off) - look towards the bottom right of the picture) for the icon.
Some of them also have optional sign language.
This will only be a small subset of their total programming, but still.

Thanks. From the clips I watched, the subtitling appears to be pretty much word for word - which is very handy.

From what I've seen many videos on ZDF also have subtitle options. Any video that has "UT" next to the run time has subtitles. Fewer are interpreted into German Sign Language though.
