Using Notion (App) for Language Learning

Postby tangleweeds » Sun Nov 15, 2020 2:41 am

I've been frustrated for a long time that I'm always needing to open and switch between various apps and files when doing language study, then ran across this video about using the app Notion, available for iOS, Android, Mac, Windows & the web (Linux version is unofficial but exists).

I wasn't thrilled spending time learning to configure yet another app that's not quite so transparent as it thinks it is, but after a couple of days I'm over that hump, and really liking the idea of having all my materials available in one single place to interact with, accessible via all my devices (or whatever computer I'm on, via the web app).

Has anyone else played around with this?

This video by a medical postdoc is much clearer about how to use Notion to optimize note taking and recall testing. I'll admit to a history of geeking out on note-taking and information management software, and aside from the many thinks Anki can do, I hadn't really previously found anything that worked so well for language study.

I'll probably come back here later to let y'all know how it worked out for me (or at least so I hope, if I can pull out of the current neurological relapse, sigh).
