While looking for something else entirely, I stumbled across Readle (apparently, it used to be "Hello German"?). It's available for both iOS and Android. You get a very tiny handful of A1-B1 articles for free (less than a dozen in total at a time) while most articles, including all B2 and C1 content, are only available if you subscribe at $8 per month or $40 per year.
I am extremely impressed by this app. You can have the short articles read to you (by actual people) or you can read them yourself. There are keywords and grammar lessons for each article. After struggling to find A1/A2 input that is both comprehensible and meant for adults, I love this. LingQ is okay but I have a hard time navigating around the site/app for whatever reason and the TTS voices aren't that great either. I like the real voices of Readle better. Too bad it's not available for other languages.
