So I'm trying to switch to iPhone but the inability to simply transfer MP3s to my phone is driving me crazy. This is made harder by the fact that it seems Ear2memory is only available on Android.
For those who don't know, ear2memory is basically a portable Audacity. I use it to loop sections of target language audio, slow down audio speed, shadow along and gradually increase speed, etc.
If there's something on iOS that can recreate this functionality then I'll keep it, otherwise I'm going back to my Android phone. As far as I'm concerned, primary function of my phone is to facilitate language learning and this phone's inability to do that I driving me up a wall.
Thanks for any suggestions or recommendations.
Is there an iOS alternative to Ear2memory?

I am not familiar with that Android program, but you are probably looking for Speater. As for the mp3s, you probably need to upload them to a computer and use Itunes to download them to your phone. Someone else may have a better way of going from Android to IOS.

Have you tried Speater?
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/speaterli ... d552800789
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/speater-s ... d549627415
I left iOS a couple of years ago so unfortunately I have no experience with it myself.

I'll have to download Ear2memory to an Android device to try it out so I can make a better recommendation; I'm not familiar with it. However, have you tried VLC? It doesn't just play files but it also connects to various cloud services so you can download MP3s from your Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, or iCloud account. You can also load files directly from a computer over wifi with an easy drag & drop interface. No plugging in your phone and needing to go through iTunes (I hate iTunes!). The only thing it doesn't do is loop sections of a larger piece of audio.

I'm going to have to check out Speater, but meanwhile, I've been a happy satisfied user of the iOS app AudioStretch for several years now. I use it to slow down and repeat sections both to study languages and transcribe music.

I like the interface of that one best. What’s really driving me crazy is needing to use iTunes to get my music. We’ll see how it goes!
EDIT: alright well it looks like I can play local files with this one as well, which is easy enough to bring in with iCloud. I think we have a winner!

You could also check LinguaMate. I personally find it excellent.

I do wish there was a waveform for me to see, though. Sometimes that's easier to manipulate, or I've gotten used to audio looking like Audacity.

If you need a waveform, then Speater is better. But Speater is not updated regularly, while Linguamate is. I also find Linguamate more user friendly. I like how the buttons are positioned, for example. By the way, there is a waveform on the Edit screen. This is quite convenient if you need to tweak the bookmarks. Another nice function is the ability to skip parts you don't want to hear. Again, you do that from the Edit screen.
Altogether, a very nice app for audio practice. I am using it all the time.
