Speater is not updated regularly, while Linguamate is.

By the way, there is a waveform on the Edit screen. This is quite convenient if you need to tweak the bookmarks. Another nice function is the ability to skip parts you don't want to hear. Again, you do that from the Edit screen.

I wonder why it's not there for me. I see the place where it should be, but that's empty and the play button is greyed out.

I do wish their help area/website were more informative. I like to RTFM. But it looks like a great app overall!

You could ask the developper. I was in touch with him for a bug I found, and he was nice and responsive. It would also be a good opportunity to practice your Japanese...
