I am also learning Spanish idioms ans phrases tough my mother is not Spanish. My favorite idiom in Spanish is:
Ser pan comido
The literal translation of "ser pan comido" is "to be bread eaten," and it means that something is very easy to do. It is the English equivalent of saying something is a piece of cake. For example: "El trabajo es pan comido." (The job is a piece of cake.)

I have made an anki deck of 700+ idioms. The author of the book from which I took them claims that these are the most frequent. These are mostly collocations and idiomatic usages--not folk sayings. I've found it incredibly useful and powerful to study these. I learn five new ones every day:

Is there another place to download this or get the pdf of this book? The Google book apparently cannot be downloaded even though it is in the public domain.

Right. The "problem" is that the book can only be viewed and not printed or downloaded. This is indeed a valuable resource. I note that the same publisher has similar books for other languages.

Ah, understood. If I had a copy I'd gladly send it to you, but I don't. I made that Anki deck by copying and pasting from the website into a spreadsheet.

The good news is that you can actually download the book from the Hathitrust website, but you have to be connected to a Hathitrust institution computer to do so. If there is a research university near you that is associated with Hathitrust, you can download the book at one of their library computers. This is what I do for certain academic resources and databases. Sometimes it requires a little social engineering with the reference librarians to get them to log you in, but I've never been denied. Alternatively, find a friend who can log into the library resources at a connected school.
