Minna No Nihongo: help to understand the audio exercises

Postby Arnaud » Thu Nov 07, 2019 7:57 am

I've started to study Minna No Nihongo 1, the problem is that I don't quite understand what I'm supposed to do with the audio exercises, especially the exercise 3 (CD track 4) of the first chapter, page 12 of the new edition.
For the previous exercices, I've transcripted what I heard in kana (I don't know the kanji, yet) and compared it with the keys at the end of the book.
For exercise 3, I'm lost : there is a cross and a cercle in the exercise, a star in the keys, a beep in the audio: I don't understand the logic of what I'm supposed to do with all that.
If someone can enlighten me, I''d be really grateful.

For exercise 3 they give you a mini dialogue and then make a statement (after the beep). The exercise is asking you to tell if the statement makes sense based on the dialogue. If so, it's a circle. If not, it's a X. Then they repeat the process for number 2 in exercise 3.

Also, the actual answer in the answer key is along the right side. The star just represents the statement after the dialogue.
