Études littéraires: Forum in French

Postby MorkTheFiddle » Sat Sep 28, 2019 11:15 pm

Mods: maybe this should go somewhere else?

There is a pretty decent forum in French about literary matters and related topics called Études littéraires.
Most of the topics cover French matter, but foreign literatures are covered as well.

The forums include the following topics (since this is an English-only forum I provide English translations of the topics).
Entraide scolaire et bac de français (I leave this untranslated cause frankly I don't know what it means)
    Langue française (French language)
    La filière littéraire (French threads)
    Littérature française (French literature)
Littérature et esthétique générale (Literature and General Esthetics (?))
    Autres littératures (Other (non-French) literatures)
    Langues anciennes (Ancient languages)
    Langues vivants (Living languages)
Actualité littéraire et textes des internautes (Current and internet literature)
    Café philo (Philosophy cafe)

Have a look. Corrections to my translations are welcome. :)

Edit one time to correct misspelling.

Thanks, I'm going to check this out!

For "Entraide scolaire et bac de français," I think this is a support forum (entraider = to help each other).

Excellent! While you “could” repost your comments within the “Le groupe français 2016-2019 Les Yoyeurs” study group, with the passage of time, they would be buried. Perhaps a means of keeping these links more current and accessible to members of the forum who take an active interest in studying French, would be to create a “new” Study Group. However, this poses something of a small problem because, without regular postings, this new group would fall to the very bottom of the list where in could easily be forgotten. Perhaps this could be addressed by creating a "new" Sub-forum where links to "Alternate Language-Learning Forums" could be hosted. Rdearman, where art thou?

"bac de français" refers to the portion of the high school exams (baccalauréat) dedicated to French language and litterature. (this subject is usually taken in year 11 = classe de première, while most other subjects are taken in year 12 = classe de terminale)

At Études littéraires I found an interesting thread about whether members at that forum had read and enjoyed Marcel Proust' s A la recherche du temps perdu. Their reactions were mixed. I have said before that I have read about 60% of it. For me reading it is a bore but listening to it is a pleasure. Still working though on that last 40 %. :)

perhaps this could be added to the French resources list as well? (if it hasn’t already). Good find though, MorkTheFiddle!

Thanks, Peter. It has been added to French resources (I think :? ).
