Rosetta Stone Transcripts

I know that Rosetta Stone has a bad reputation, because you click endlessly on confusing pictures, like a robot, and it becomes mind numbingly boring. Also, the pace is extremely slow, and the price is extremely high.
However, I have discovered that the textual transcripts are available online for all the languages, and (from a quick glance) they seem to be identical for all languages (as least for as many levels as each language goes).
Therefore, it seems to me that these transcripts should function, effectively, as accurate bilingual texts, with progressive levels of difficultly, and with huge numbers of pairings possible.
Has anybody tried this? Did you have any success with it?
