Instructional materials for Sakha (Yakut)

Those with an interest in the farther reaches of the Turkic language family but lacking in Russian might be interested in this:

A blogger by the name of Justin Smith has translated/adapted the first part of L. N. Kharitonov's Soviet-era Самоучитель якутского языка for English-speakers, including the key to the exercises, and posted it online here:

He's evidently still working on the rest of the book, which hopefully will appear eventually.

Further to this earlier post, Mr. Smith recently completed his translation of the Kharitonov textbook; the complete volume is available here:
