Spreadsheet - JALUP XP Navi Advice?

Postby Aiya.Lianxi » Fri Mar 29, 2019 5:45 pm

Hey...returning member here, and in searching for spreadsheets, I found someone mentioned JALUP's XP Navi spreadsheet. (hey @notorious MIBG @Ani !)

Here's the info I've found about this system.

I'm curious if anyone has used the overall quest system to implement your own practices (scriptorium, telenovela method, changing points), or modified to program/system to work for other languages?

I am not an excel wizard, so I'm struggling to modify the system, and curious if someone else has already done this--and if not, if anyone would be interested in seeing another spreadsheet for tracking multiple languages, and seeing the percentage of time spent on activities?

I track my writing projects with a spreadsheet, and I'd like to see the progress I'm making, or at least time I'm spending, as I claw my way out of the intermediate plateau. Also thanks to @jeff_lindqvist for sharing the scriptorium spreadsheet!

Hello!
I have used JALUP XP Navi. It's the same as making a log of what you are reading. not sure it is worth the $10 on it's own. I got it with my Jalup life time subscription. It's good if you feel you are not making progress, and want to see your XP bar go up. I use XP Navi to encourage more immersion. With out XP Navi, I would do learning apps to watch the number go up.

I modified my Jalup to sum studying into three buckets "studying" "Listening" and "reading". I was reading, watching TV with TL subtitles, playing video games and anki. When I grouped them- I didn't have any listening practice! Oops

The "Excel" version doesn't work in Libre Office for me (and I'm not paying a monthly subscription for Excel), so I copied the PDF version in to sheets and do the formulas in a calculator.

In XP Navi you break your streak by studying less than 20 minutes a day, which feels harsh to me.
