Thank you very much for the link. I have inserted it under the "Miscellaneous" section. In passing, locating "Greek" in their list of languages is complicated by the fact that website designers have chosen the alternate spelling "Creek".

Here are four resources I'm using now and recommend:

Language Transfer

Easy Greek

Two interlinear short story collections with audio here and here. The stories are "on the theme of humans and time." So far I'm about halfway through the first book, and I'm finding the stories thoughtful and interesting.

And then three Assimil Greek courses have been published. The most recent (2017) is by Jean-Pierre Guglielmi. I believe it's currently only available in French. The initial lessons are short and simple, but the learning curve soon gets steeper. The course has a continuing storyline. The previous course is Le nouveau grec sans peine from 1996, and it's available in several languages besides French. Some discussion of these two courses in this post and the two posts following. And the original Assimil Greek course was Le grec sans peine.

This is a dictionary by a famous professor called Γεώργιος Μπαμπινιώτης. I don't know if it has already been listed here. Any of his videos you can find on youtube is more than worth it, if you are advanced.

There's quite a dearth of resources in Italian language for Modern Greek.
It's a shame, Greek language is beautiful.

Let's start from:

Assimil - Il greco, based from the updated French version from 2017, it has been published in mid-2020 in Italian as well.
The slow initial learning curve may put off false beginners from dealing with this book.

Of course it's possible to use the older "il nuovo greco senza sforzo", but the initial dialogues are very old (from 1977), and these don't match the current spoken language.

After Assimil, it's possible to get going with:

Efcharistó, Elláda - by Maria Angela Cernigliaro Tsouroula
- this course is published by Hoepli in 2 volumes (A1-A2, B1-B2), and the second volume is the only intermediate course with audio, although the quality is not the best; viceversa, the cultural notes are nice and the grammar is clear, written in a non-academic way.

Grammar-wise, there are 2 books worth mentioning:

1) Grammatica di greco moderno. Lingua parlata, letteraria, arcaicizzante: teoria ed esercizi - published by Hoepli
2) Il neogreco per gli italiani. Grammatica di greco moderno - published by Dellisanti.

If you want also some notes about Ancient Greek and Katharevousa, choose the former.
If you don't care about them and you want to learn just the modern language, choose the latter.
Both books are fine.

The best dictionary worth buying is:

'Italo - Ellinikó / 'Ellino - Italikó, published by Ellinoekdotikí (40000 words and 60000 examples)
A simple yet complete dictionary for everyone dealing with the Greek language.

L'Asiatheque have a collection of Modern Greek resources, including a dedicated textbook with good-quality audio:


They have also have a couple of bilingual readers, a grammar, dictionary and a history of Modern Greek.

Funnily enough I just received my order of the above, and they inadvertently sent me a free copy of the grammar as well
