Sites like GLOSS for ELL

Postby fresh_air » Fri Feb 15, 2019 4:26 pm

I'm working with my friend to help improve her English, she's about a low B1 level English speaker. I showed her the GLOSS site, as she's learning Spanish as well, and she loved the organization by skill level, the vast number of lessons, intresting dialogue and topics, real audio that can be played slowed down or at normal pace, and word glossary. Is there a free site of similar quality and method for ELLs?

In October, 2017, IronMike introduced the “National Foreign Language Center” (NFLC) to the forum, to which Zegpoddle provided additional information. While access is not free, given the vast collection of resources which cover a wide range of languages, a subscription price of 5.00 $ per month (which can be cancelled anytime) seems more than reasonable. There is on only ONE file for ENGLISH; however, as you mentioned that your friend is also studying SPANISH, she might find the NFLC worth the detour.
