Anyone learning modern Greek?

I have started learning Greek (I learned some ages ago but it was interrupted but I have resumed studying it). Is there anyone else out there on this board? If so, I might write some practise sentences or paragraphs and hopefully have them corrected.

Tarvos and Iversen are the only ones I have noticed.

There is also Embici who recently started a log here. She used to be part of a TAC team for Greek at HTLAL.

Expugnator is learning Greek too.

Actually, he is the answer to most "Is anyone learning X?" questions :-D

Χαίρω πολύ !

I see you are using FSI. How are you finding it? It gets such great reviews. I was intimidated by the diacritics so opted for more recent materials.

I will be following your progress.

Καλή τύχη !

I am interested in what resources you are using. I have an interest in learning koine Greek. But I need to learn it pronounced as modern Greek. I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian and our seminaries teach the modern pronunciation in New Testament Greek classes.

I look forward to following your progress,
Tom

There aren't so many people studying Modern Greek here I think. There were on the old forums, I suppose, but where they went, the Invisible Pink Unicorn only knows.

Hey now!

Actually, I don't do modern, and don't really have any inclination in that direction, so, this one's all you :D

When you get ready to read (and listen) to it, grab the 1904 Patriarchal Text, which can be found with accompanying audio in modern pronunciation (I've listened to it and read along on the YouVersion app, since I learned German-influenced Erasmian anyway, and I can't screw up my pronunciation any more than it already is  ).

Actually, when you do it, PM me, I'll point you to a bunch of stuff for koine.
