A question for Catalan speakers

Hello, I was wondering what the word albala (perhaps albalah, al-bala, albalat or other variations) means in Catalan?
It's my family name that probably originated in the Iberian peninsula, persumably in Catalan speaking areas.
If it helps, from what I've researched, there are multiple small towns called Albala and Albalat that are the likely origin of the name/word, when last names started being used in that area (around the 11th century).

In Spanish albalá is apparently a variant of albarán, which is an invoice or a delivery slip.

In Catalan, the word is albarà, and I don't believe albalà exists, although maybe it did in medieval times.

However, if the original placename is Albarat, then it might come from something else...
