Anki problem

Postby javier_getafe » Mon Jan 21, 2019 10:49 pm

Hi everyone,

I've got a problem using Anki and I wanted to tell you about it just in case you know a solution. Beforehand, I'd like to tell you that I am working with Anki for the last 4 or 5 years without any problem.

However, yesterday was the chosen day to start off with a new language learning process. :) :) :) French is the winner just in case you were asking for :D :D

So, first step, I made a new bunch in Anki for new words but I've got the next problem as I wrote down new words. For example, if I write down RED, that is a new world in the french bunch, Anki tells me that the card is repeated because the card exists in my english bunch. And, I don't know how I can avoid this problem.

Have I explained properly the problem?? I hope so.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Are you importing the cards into the same deck? I think you need to create a new deck called "French" and import the cards into that deck.

Sorry, I am afraid that I had my Anki in Spanish and I did a mistaken translation as I said "bunch". Now, I have turned my Anki into English in order to avoid misunderstandings.

Fresh start, sorry: I have made a new desk: 'French'. But, If I write down a new word into the french desk and the world exists in the english desk Anki warn me in pink color. It is a little bit annoying and I don't know how is possible to avoid.

Thank you.

desk = the table you write on
deck = the group of cards

If you are having trouble with the duplicate cards and creating a new deck, as rdearman suggests, isn't solving it then use this add-on: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1672832404

It creates a unique id field and assures that the sort column is not listing duplicates.

Normally, rdeardman's answer it the correct way to go. Cards in true different decks are not checked against each other for duplication, but even if that was the case, the add-on will resolve that.

 I'm a little bit clumsy. Deck, deck deck. :D

I did again all the steps; - New deck created. - New word added in new Deck 'french' however anki detected coincidence with other deck 'english'. I actually don't know why but it happens... :?:

So next step trying add-on, thing I'll do after the meal time :D

Here again,

I installed the add-on however, unfortunatelly I am not able to apreciated any visual difference and Anki still detects duplicated cards.

Althought I figure out one way to solve the problem out and it works well. When adding a new card it is able to change the field 'type'. It seems that decks with differents 'types' doesn't recognize duplicated cards, so great!.

Thank you
