Portuguese: Dictionary with easy example sentences

Postby Peluche » Thu Jul 19, 2018 1:22 am

I am looking for a Portuguese to english dictionary with sample sentences that are easy to understand (A2-B1 level)
Some that I have found:
https://www.infopedia.pt/dicionarios/po ... gles/dever
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictio ... lish/dever
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dicti ... lish/dever

Are there others?

I am mostly looking to mine easy sentences which demonstrate verb usage.

Slightly more advanced example sentences, so maybe not much help, but two that I know of are Linguee and WordReference.

After checking out in a bookstore this frequency dictionary in its German guise, I think that the Portuguese version could be up your alley. It has an example sentence beside every Portuguese headword (about 5000 words sorted by frequency)

If you know some German, you may find this thematic Portuguese dictionary and its accompanying workbook helpful to mine Portuguese sentences and build a basic vocabulary respectively.

I second Linguee; the sentences seemed to be aimed at intermediate level.
