(Spanish) Which grammar rule is used for 'la' in this context ?

Postby Jaleel10 » Sat Feb 24, 2018 7:55 am

Just by following the English script I can deduce it means ' to be that of' but I've never seen it before in my studies.

 Now I feel like an idiot. So I was simply just complicating unnecessarily.

Thanks again for your help. Always appreciated :)

Spanish is full of little contractions like these, and you will often see these pronouns used to render emphasis as well.

Lo que me irrita es que tu no sabes comunicar conmigo.

"It that irritates me is that you no know communicate with-me"

"That which annoys me is that you don't know how to communicate with me."

"It annoys me you don't know how to communicate with me."

La que ganó el premio fue Daniela Vega (She who won the prize was Daniela Vega, rendering emphasis on the fact it was her).

....

Although this has nothing to do with the OP, I think comunicarte would be better here than comunicar.
