Mandarin in 15 Minutes Per Day

Postby Yaya100000 » Tue Oct 10, 2017 6:43 pm

Hello All. A friend of mine has just issued me a challenge to see how much Mandarin we could each learn studying 15 minutes each day for 1 year. I was wondering what types of resources, especially free online resources, might be good specifically for studying only a few minutes a day. I had a look at the DLI Basic course and I will also look at the FSI course and the Peace Corps course as well. We won't be studying intensely, just as a small hobby and an experiment in learning a very unfamiliar language.

I put a lot of resources here in my old log:

There is a long list in Reineke's master list of resources.

Good luck. I think if you do 15 minutes EVERY day then you'll learn quite a bit since that is 91 hours of study. :)

Here are the resources I have gathered for Chinese: http://cameleondeslangues.be/article-bi ... n-chinois/

For 15 minutes a day, I would advise the HelloChinese app ;)

Getting app to learn is useful. But have to be consistent which means daily learning. Make it short and sweet. If too long you will get bored. I able to memorize 300 words by using an app alone. I guess if we know 1000-2000 characters, you are effectively good in Mandarin
