"Я хочу еще бекона"

Postby Dylan95 » Fri Aug 18, 2017 10:09 pm

I came across this sentence while reading Harry Potter. Can anyone explain to me why бекон takes the genitive singular in this sentence?

Does the use of the genitive in this particular instance signify a meaning similar to "some?" or is it because an inferred word was removed such as кусок? например: "я хочу еще кусок бекона"

Sorry for littering the forum with extremely specific questions.
