need an easy Spanish audiobook

Postby Tomás » Mon May 15, 2017 9:46 pm

Please recommend an easy Spanish audiobook (a real book, not a graded reader). I have listened to two Dan Brown novels, and now need another easy audiobook for my car. Something with a lot of action and dialogue would be good, since my listening skills are only intermediate. A good voice actor is also crucial for my level, since speed-readers and mumblers still tend to lose me.

Have a look (or a listen) to the books narrated by Yamil Cuellar, a Cuban actor currently living in the San Francisco bay area. I had sampled a few of his pieces last weekend and thought they were fantastic. My next audiobook will be one of his.

Cien años de soledad read by Gustavo Bonfigli sounds real clear to my ears. Bonfigli's audiobooks are available on Audible. You can sample audiobooks on Amazon and decide for yourself.

I agree. I've listened to the first CD, and Bonfigli's voice sustained itself throughout. There are 15 CDs in all totaling 17.5 hours.

Several actors read Roberto Bolaño's Los Salvajes Detectives. The audiobook I have goes for 27 hr, 21 min. My copy came from Audioteca, which is mentioned in other threads on this forum. Note especially Iguanamon's post http://forum.language-learners.org/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5035&p=57184&hilit=audioteka#p57184.

The narrators of those two novels are Hispanic Americans, but a Spanish actress (name forgotten  ) narrates Fortunata y Jacinta by Benito Pérez Galdós. I have listened to some of Part I from Audible, 11 hrs 41 min.
