Old Italian or modern Italian short translation am I on the right track?

Postby Soham » Wed Feb 10, 2016 1:30 am

Hello just opened up a book on ancient greek and wanted to translate the starting passage grammatically a bit so am I on the right track any comments?

'Mira colui con quella spada in mano,'
Mira: Him is peremptory personal pronoun therefore is male, colui: look is the peremptory verb of Mira.
Con: That -> neuter pronoun. Quella: with is a male verb which connects with Spada: sword male noun.
In: meaning in and is a preposistion. Mano: hand neuter noun.

I would like to know if I'm correct and I don't mind criticism cause we learn from mistakes. :)

By the way it is the starting passage from Dante's Inferno canto IV
