Finding language partner on internet
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but how can I find a language partner to practice with on the internet? Something like an intercambio, where we trade English and Spanish.

Same here. This seems to be the best for me too.

Re: Finding language partner on internet
I also suggest having a strategy to filter the requests. Back when looking for a language exchange partner, I was swamped with requests which included a good number of people who were more interested in finding a significant other than anything else. I ended up writing an introduction email... why I want to learn the language, information letting them know that I was serious about the language, the field that I work in, and that I already have a family life. I asked for the same type of information from these people. This helped to trim the list down to people who were serious about learning the language. I’m still chatting with one of the people from that time....we'll be starting our 7th year pretty soon.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Re: Finding language partner on internet
Here at LL we made a guide of language exchange communities, according to which were the best for what: http://bit.ly/1SbEeGs
From my experience, I was lucky with conversation exchange and lang8. CE doesn't allow you to include personal photos, only avatars, which I believe contributes to have a clearer atmosphere. Regarding lang-8, I noticed that the same Swedish guy always corrected my senteces, so I decided to send him a friend request. We've been friends and chatting in Spanish and Swedish since then.

Conversation Exchange is my favorite right now, and I've had the most long term success with it. I also agree that you should try to find someone with whom you have something in common, so that you have something to talk about. I tend to narrow my searches by age, sometimes gender, and I always look through what they list as their hobbies.
