La Pimpa

Postby Astley » Sat Jun 03, 2023 6:05 pm

Hi I am using Italian children cartoons La Pimpa for learning Italian. The reason being, I am learning it with my grandson. I am watching and listening the video and write down the script. Sometimes I can't understand what is said. I wonder if somebody can help me? There is this episode in particular : La Pimpa 2013 il Coccodrillo Bibo
I watch it on Youtube, but the subtitles are automatically generated and don't make sense sometimes.

I can't understannd what La Pimpa and the overn are saying. Lines 2 & 3.

1. Giro, giro tondo per l’Armando.
2. E tutti per terra.
3. Chi sara? finiscito in forno?
4. So come si fa.

I am also struggling to understand what the Crocodile & Pimpa are saying when the Crocodile is eating the apples. Lines 1-3 and 7:
1. E nuda o mio dio
2. Giorgio bordoni e gooden e la tua corona. E per questo che ce lo.
3. E quella novo losone.
4. Verrei la portare alla mia mama.
5. Ai nostalgia della mama?
6. No, ho ancora fame.
7. Si smette di finiare te porto in cucina

I'll appreciate if somebody can help. Xx

That is so cute! I hadn't seen these videos yet!

Here's what they say:

Giro giro tondo, per l'Armando...
E tutti giù per terra!
Finisci tu, forno? ((can) you finish, oven?)
Sì! So come si fa! (Yes! I know how to do it!)

The first two lines are a "parody" of ring-around-the-roses. The full nursery rhyme in Italian goes like this:
Giro giro tondo
casca il mondo
casca la terra
e tutti giù per terra!

CROCODILE SCENE:
Un colpetto di coda (= a little hit with the tail)
Ahi ahi ahi ahi ahi (= ouchie)
Pardon! (Sorry)
È utile la tua codona! (Your big tail is useful!)
Sì, è per questo che ce l'ho! (Yes, that's why I have it!)

E quella no, golosone? (And not that one, you big glutton?)
Vorrei portarla a mia mamma (I'd like to take it to my mom)
Hai nostalgia della mamma? (Do you miss your mom?)
No, ho ancora fame! (No, I'm still hungry!)
Se smetti di frignare, ti porto in cucina (If you stop crying, I'll take you to the kitchen)
È pronta? (Is it ready?)
Sì!
Quella no! È per l'Armando! (Not that one! It's for Armando!)

Enjoy!! Say ciao to your grandson!
