Surprised

Postby Philipfinn » Tue Jan 17, 2023 1:44 pm

Hi,

In English it is equally fluent and normal to say:

“That surprises me”

as it is to say:

“I’m surprised by that”.

Is it equally fluent/normal to say in Spanish:

“Eso me sorprende”

as it is to say:

“Estoy sorprendido por eso”

Thanks,

Philip

Welcome to the LLORG Forum!
I can answer only for the English: yes, each option you list is fluent and acceptable.

I'd say "eso me sorprende" is more common than the alternative.
