Why is there a 'does' here ?

Postby sodino » Mon Oct 31, 2022 3:14 pm

I'm reading a web page as following :

More mineral elements do not necessarily make the salt good for health. Arsenic, lead, aluminum, mercury and cadmium are mineral elements that are harmful for the body.
Sodium and phosphorus are needed, but our bodies already get the required dose through other diet sources and an excess can be harmful.

-----

It seems that removing the word 'does' and the whole sentence is also complete.

Why is there a 'does' here ? What does it do?
Thanks.

It's "dose", not "does".

"dose" is a noun meaning (药物)剂量.
