I'm not really B1 in anything that has audio, so have been slow to respond, but I followed Smallwhite's recommendation for Ari's Chinesepod method and haven't looked back - it's made 'listening from the beginning' really possible, and I find it constantly pushes the envelope of what I can understand. It might be hard to get listening up to the same level as reading, but this way you can come pretty close.
