Learning Indian Languages

Postby abhivenkat09 » Mon Jun 14, 2021 4:18 am

Hello all,
I am trying to learn Tamil which is a language native to India spoken among India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Malaysia. In addition, Sanskrit is of interest to me. Where should I start?

Tamil has a lot of reference to African culture! It's kind of a mix of Arabian and African, with a little bit of Chinese I'd say.

They have a lot of culture to do with Yogis, bright colours like red and gold, and they are often by the tropical climate. They have a fondness of seafood, different spiritual paths, and are a more humid than dry heat climate. The clothing they wear to adapt is different, and they often have those baggy legged pants and such!

They use different sounds like Wa, Ga, Da, Sa, Ma, etc.! It is a culture I would say is very fascinating, I have close friends that are from there, and you might find that just studying their country's history and what they believe in (kind of like the Indians that believe in elephants and lizards more so than the others); will grant all of the vocabulary you need!

They often use mustard seeds & oil in their cooking, and they use things like black peppercorns and dill herb. They use some other things too, which can be used in pastas and such.

Have a great day!
